Hence, you decide whether the career you plan for is really required you to have a double major; if not, you may want to save the extra one or two semesters and start your career earlier.

3. Choose A College Degree With Course That Meet Your Career Goal

Many colleges are offering same degree program that meet your requirement. But, be alert that although each college degree program is named the same, their courses may be different; some courses may have a specialization area to focus in while others may teach on general topics. I’m a people-person, dedicated to the team and, according to my former bosses, a great employee. Now that I’m looking for work again I find that prospective employers won’t talk to me — AT ALL! — despite what I can do for them, for the simple fact that I don’t have that piece of paper. I have noticed that having a college or university degree makes such a big difference when looking for work. Some place won’t even call you in for an interview if you don’t have a degree etc.

But, still I really get the impression that some people have these degrees or certifications and are actually resting on their laurels while out of touch with what they are doing in some ways.
And what if you develop expertise in an area that is rarely given as a major in colleges yet still applicable to a variety of different career paths?

I personally have never finished college training or certication. I did get 2nd initiation in Bhakti Yoga. Otherwise, I am self-taught.

I feel I have some learning disability for different reasons. That is another area of study.

There are some schools offering credits for life experience. But, their offers seem a little difficult and I personally believe much more work could be done to acknowledge life experience.
