Earn a College Degree Online

Sunday, April 26th, 2009
Karl Stadler asked:

You have never been much of a person for school, and went through high school with mediocre grades. You did not like to study, and you certainly were not a fan of homework. You want that sense of accomplishment that comes along with getting a college degree, but at the same time you have small children to take care of. However, take relief in the fact that you can earn a college degree online!

There are several things that you will need in order to successfully take college courses online. First of all, you need an area of your home that allows you to work and study without any distractions. In high school you used to do your homework to music or the television, but if you want to get a successful career, you are going to need good grades in the online college courses that you take.

The wonderful thing about earning a college degree online is that many programs allow you to learn at your own pace. While there are typically assignments per course that will need to be completed in a certain amount of time for credit, you can take one or two courses at a time, and this certainly helps make your schedule a bit easier.

It really all comes down to your interest in a particular subject. The more interested you are in a subject, the more you want to study it. Thus, you will need to take college courses online that are of interest to you, but yet result in you getting a college degree. For this to happen, you are going to need to do some research.

So if you’re kicking yourself because you don’t have a college education, it’s time to stop feeling sorry for yourself and it’s time to log on and find a good online school. There are many out there and financial aid is even available if you think you’ll have a hard time paying for it. So no more excuses. Log on and finally get that education you’ve been dreaming about for so long.

The Benefits of Earning a College Degree

Saturday, April 18th, 2009
Shay Rosen asked:

For many students and working adults, the decision to pursue a college degree can be a difficult one. The time and financial commitments involved may seem overwhelming at time, especially to someone at the beginning of their academic journey. Thankfully, there are many option available for students who wish to pursue their education but are limited by free time and resources. Online learning has revolutionized education by allowing students to attend classes whenever their schedule permits from wherever internet access is available. Federal and private loans are available for students needing to finance a portion or all of their tuition. Still, the time and effort required to make the arrangements to get into college, much less attend and graduate from an educational institution, may lead some to question the necessity of earning a degree.

In today’s society, earning a college degree is essential for success in the employment market. Few positions in the workforce with upward mobility or ample advancement opportunities are available for those without an education beyond the high school level. Of course, the type of career path one chooses can greatly affect factors such as these, but overall, those who earn a college degree simply have more and better job opportunities.

Financially, earning a college degree is a wise choice. The rate of return in future earnings for every dollar a student spends on education more than makes up for the cost of earning a degree. Bachelor’s degree holders gain an estimated one million dollars in lifetime earnings over those who only hold a high school diploma, according to a recent report by the U.S. Census Bureau. But getting a college degree is about more than just higher earnings, and many of the benefits can have a profound impact on graduate’s lives.

College graduates enjoy better health, participate in more leisure activities, save a greater amount (by percentage) of their earnings, offer an improved quality of life for their children and report higher levels of personal happiness than adults with a high school diploma, according to the Institute for Higher Education Policy. Furthermore, a recent study by the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education revealed that college graduates are less prejudiced, exhibit greater rationality and are more aware of world affairs than their non-degree holding counterparts.

Are there jobs in Seoul for Americans without a college degree?

Friday, April 10th, 2009
Leslie Andrew M asked:

I am moving to Seoul with my husband later on this month. He will be teaching English while I continue my own education by taking online classes through my university. Are there any jobs that I could do, even part-time, without a college degree? Because of some confusion with his job I haven’t gotten my visa yet, but they say that once I get there, everything will work out.

Also, hopefully this doesn’t have an impact, but I am of mixed ancestry and he is white. Is there a problem with hiring “ethnic” foreigners?

Charles

Why are You Going to College? - is College Degree the Answer to Achieve Your Dream?

Sunday, April 5th, 2009
Prince Samuels asked:

Starting college will require your time, money, investment of personal resources.  This is why you must know what you want and do a complete research as to  what you love to do and good at.  I’ve seen so many college students who have no passion in their chosen fields.  Boredorm is what they confront everyday.  If a person is going school for something they are passion about, they shouldn’t be bored about it at all.  Are you going to college because of the money, families and friends expectations?  If these are the reasons, please take a break and think again because it will not be a pleasant journey in your career.  The investments and expenses, and sacrifices it takes to go to college is a major one.  Don’t be like most people who never satified with their chosen fields and keep getting more and more degrees. Below will be some statistics that might alert you before going to college.

The average public university in the U.S. is about $10,000 a year today.  The average private university tuition is about $19,000  a year today.  The average pay for a teacher four years with degree is $ 27000 a year.  The average pay for an engineering degree is about   $40,000 a year.  Students drop out rate is 30%.  Of these  students who graduate with students loans is about 30%. Without students loans are about 15%.  The average students book cost is ranging from $95 to $130.  With this stagerring statistics, don’t you think it makes sense to do a sound and informed research before putting your foot on a college campus?  By the way there is no guaranteed when you graduate to get a job either especially with this cloudy economy.  If you are going to college because you love that career and for learning purposes, I will encourage you to go for it.  But if you are going to college to get a job like 97% of the people were thought, then I will advice you to go into business for youreself.  There are many low start up cost business out there you can research where there is a better reward.  Go with your gut instinct when making major decision and don’t always do  what others you want you to do.   To learn more about making sound  decision on goals and career, or other ways to increase your income, go to my resource box now or visit me at http://www.mlmeducationblog.com Email: psam_leadership@hotmail.com  phone# 612-306-4920 Voice: 206-339-6218

I don’t have a college degree. College just isn’t for me. Believe me when I say that. And I don’t want to be working fast food, making seven dollars an hour the rest of my life.
