Online Degree Universities: you Can Get a College Degree

Thursday, May 28th, 2009
Elizabeth Whitesmith asked:

Having a college degree, in today’s job market, is not only emphasized, but more often than not, required for anyone to obtain a good job or pursue a satisfying and prosperous career. Unfortunately today, many hard working and intelligent people have integrity but fail to land the perfect job for lack of a college education.

People who opted to join the workforce instead of attending college immediately following high school graduation find it extremely difficult to quit their jobs later on in order to go to college. By this time in their lives they may have families to provide for and too many bills to even consider cutting work hours to attend college. In addition, quitting their jobs would mean giving up benefits such as health insurance and the security of a steady paycheck. These people are considered “non-traditional students”, because they’ve been out in the workforce.

What some people fail to realize is how easy it can be these days to work on bachelor degree programs online from the comfort of their home. All they have to do is sit down at their home computer to read through course material, study the information, email teachers with questions, and even take an online test. All of these are offered by many online degree universities.

Today’s online degree universities have pretty much covered all the bases to attract non-traditional students to their schools. They offer flexible class schedules with courses that can be worked on around the clock. There are also payment plans, which include grants and scholarships, that are designed to make online degree universities affordable for just about everyone.

All it takes is a quick search of the internet to reveal that there are numerous degrees available online in just about any imaginable subject. You can get a bachelor’s degree in sociology, history, English literature or psychology. You can even work towards a career as a teacher by earning a bachelor degree in education online.

It can be a difficult decision for a student to make the choice of taking college classes through online degree universities. However, the accomplishment of completion of a degree will be something that will follow them into their future, including future job interviews.

Are there any good career jobs you can get without a college degree?

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009
toldanothertale asked:

I would like to get a good career job without having to get a college degree, I wanna make somewhere around $15-20 an hour, I’m currently a part time employee at Shopko (department store) for over 6 years now and I can only earn up to a certain amount to keep my dissability income, plus I’m 25 years old and I still live at home with my mother, are there any suggestions for me to get a good career job without having to go to college, I have a learning dissability and I was in special education when I was in high school.

Right now I’m saving up to get myself a vehicle so I can get myself motivated for a career job.

Finish Your Degree with Online Accredited Colleges Degree Program

Sunday, May 24th, 2009
Art Gib asked:

Do you feel like you have limited earning potential in today’s job market because you never finished your college degree? Getting degrees from online accredited colleges can help you fill in the gaps in your education and earn more money in any field.

If you started your college degree but had to quit before you were able to complete the degree it’s not too late for you to finish your college degree and get all the benefits that having a college degree can bring. Many adults that never finished their college degrees are embarrassed to back to school with 18 and 19 year olds that are just out of high school.

If you choose to attend an online accredited college to get your degree, then you don’t have to be embarrassed because you will be taking classes online with other adults that are in the exact same situation you are in. You will be able to make friends and get support from your classmates without being embarrassed.

Another reason that people put off going back to school to finish a college degree is the time and expense of getting a degree. If you work full time then chances are good that your employer isn’t going to let you arrange your schedule around the classes at the local college.

But if you choose to get a degree from an accredited online college you can attend classes and do your work when it’s convenient for you, like after work or on weekends. You can also save a lot of money attending college online. Online accredited college degrees cost thousands less than attending classes at a traditional college.

You might even be able to get help from your employer to pay for an online college degree. Many employers will provide tuition assistance for employees that want to go back to school and finish their degrees because having a degree will help the employee perform better.

Ask your Human Resources department what your company’s tuition assistance policy is and you might be surprised at how much of the cost of getting a degree from an online accredited college your company will pay for.

Even if your company doesn’t help you pay the cost of finishing your college degree online it’s still a good idea to go back to school and finish your degree. Having a college degree can open doors for you professionally that you would never have access to without a degree. Don’t let another year go by without going back to school and getting your degree. Find out more about online accredited colleges today.

Why is it so important to have a college degree?

Friday, May 22nd, 2009
Boo8081 asked:

There is a position open in my work place. When the girl that has the job is out of the office, I feel the job. She has the degree and I do not. She will be out of the office starting in June and will not be back until December. My boss wants to me to fill the position because I know how to do the job and they won’t have to train anyone else. When the president of the company found out about this he was upset because I didn’t have a college degree. I start school in July. The thing that upsets me is that I already do the job when she is out and now he is making a big deal of it. Please help. I need to understand this.

College Degree? 4 Reasons Why It Might Be A Good Idea To Postpone College

Thursday, May 7th, 2009
Deanna Mascle asked:

Every high school junior and senior understands the pressure well. It seems everyone is asking that all-important question — “Where are you going to college?” For some students the answer is easy. They know what they want to study and where they want to do it, but there are a number of students that the search for a college is made all the more difficult because they simply do not have a clear plan for their future. How can you choose a college when you aren’t sure of your major or future career? There are four good reasons why it might be a good idea to postpone college.

Every year, first-year students in colleges around the country struggle and sometimes fail at their first foray into college. Often the cause of this failure is not lack of preparation or lack of ability, but quite simply lack of focus. College campuses are filled with temptations for youngsters away from home for the first time, but many students manage to withstand these temptations without greatly damaging their future prospects. The advantage these students have is often as simple as a clear-cut goal for their future. If a student does not have a plan for their future then it is easy to be distracted from possibilities by present temptations. Waiting to start college until you have a definite goal can give you greater focus.

Another benefit of waiting can also give you greater confidence because you will have developed skills in the workplace before returning to the classroom. Sometimes these skills might contribute to your future plans and education, but even if you worked in an unrelated field you will gain time management skills and a work ethic which will stand you in good stead in college.

College is expensive and tuition rises almost every year. If you take off a year to work and manage to bank a good amount of what you earn then you will have a nice way to offset those college expenses. If you play your cards right then your pre-college employer will be happy to welcome you back during college breaks and summers.

Taking a year off and working in your community might also be a great way to build up your college application. Perhaps you did not get into the college of your dreams the first-time around, then take some time to boost your resume through work or volunteer effort. Or you could take a few classes at a local college to demonstrate that you do have what it takes for your dream school.

Postponing college does not mean you will never go. You can take off one or two years and find it offers many more benefits to you as an individual. In fact, you might choose to stay home and while you are thinking and planning for the future you can still take some general education classes so it is not a wasted year. Even if you do not take classes, postponing college can reap the benefits of greater focus, increased confidence, more savings, and a stronger application.
