Escape the Standardized Exam Gre, Gmat, toefl and Get a College Degree

Monday, March 15th, 2010
Jagdish Khubchandani asked:

I have always wondered about the relevance of GRE/ GMAT / SAT/ IELTS. These exams have their own flaws and may be perceived as regressive patterns of testing the knowledge, aptitude and analytical abilities of a graduate student. I am in no which way an expert, scholar or authority who can strongly detest the usage of the aforementioned exams in selection criteria of students for a study abroad program. The bottom line is that these exams are bridges across global schools which facilitate the selection of deserving students.

In my honest opinion exams like GRE are a matter of hard work and luck; both the determinants sharing the credit of your success equally. However, at times you may have a bad day or may be you are ill while you appeared for the exams. The results obviously are skewed towards the lower percentiles. Now- a- days some institutions have been realistic enough to understand that the undergraduate GPA, work experience and a good resume, compounded with a professional letter of intent (for the desired study program) actually decide the capability of a student rather than the scores of standardized exams like GRE. The list of programs which may help you earn a MBA degree without GRE/ GMAT is given below. These institutions are in no which way associated with my professional or academic interests. As a matter of fact there are a growing number of students who have exceptional work experience and great academic record but unfortunately were not able to perform on the standardized exams. Admittedly we are witnessing a boom in the number of students participating in study abroad programs and responding to this boom a great number of schools all over the world have relaxed the admission criterion. USA harbors these institutions which would give preference to your overall body of work rather than the scores on standardized exams.

Saturday, March 13th, 2010
Mona Abdulla asked:

Not holding a diploma or degree does not mean there is a lack of the skills necessary to create and grow a successful home business.

You might somehow feel uncomfortable to go out and look for a high profiled job if you are not a degree holder; but the good news is that you can find such job on the internet!!!

It’s true nowadays that you can make money from an internet based job. You might struggle in the beginning till you understand the “secret of the game”, however, you would end up making a good earning for life.

Once you decided to have an online job; you will have a wide range of options to choose from as a home worker. The choice will mainly depend on your interest and the number of hours your are willing to dedicate to this job.

Getting That College Degree - Scholarships and Grants For Mothers

Friday, March 5th, 2010
Walter Sigmore asked:

n in the United States have sacrificed their education because they have taken the path towards motherhood. Some got married and others had children at a very young age. Retuning to school and getting that college degree now seems to be impossible for them. Factors like money are the impediments in obtaining a college degree.

Although there’s a list of grants and scholarships offered to students, mothers, especially working moms find it hard to qualify for the same as they require certain qualifications and standards which are impossible for a working mom to comply.

As we all know, pursuing a college degree requires a lot of funds. Stopping at one point in time and reflecting about life and what it may bring is common to all. Many moms share the same thought of pursuing a college degree. Some may consider of finishing their education so that they may have a job while others think of pursuing a new career. Whatever their reasons may be many moms have always desired to enter the halls of learning so that they may fulfill their goals and ambitions in life.

The strongest factor that bars one from going back to school is funding. Barriers such as time may easily be toppled as you come up with solutions like time adjustment and budgeting. But when it comes to money the idea of going back to school becomes cloudy as materializing it would be very impossible.

The things to be considered in pursuing a college degree are tuition costs which is the darkest area of the tunnel, books which do not come in cheap bundles, and commuting expenses which can drain ones pocket as the price of gas today has skyrocketed.

With all these obstacles, a mom can still go back to school and finally get that college degree which she has always yearned for. Many scholarships and grants are offered by the government as well as private institutions and are available for mothers whether they may be working or not, married or single. They are designed especially for mothers as these institutions encourage mothers around the country to go back to school.

Moms Earn College Degrees with Obama Scholarships

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010
Lance Davidson asked:

the opportunity is there, moms who have been thinking about going back to school sometimes still procrastinate. They are not sure if it will work with their schedules and just feel it is better to put things off for now. Funding has been made available by President Barack Obama for moms to go back to school on scholarships, and the money will not be around forever.

We all know that being a mother can include a difficult, busy schedule, so going back to school might not seem like something that is feasible right now. The truth is, that you deserve to do something for yourself as you have been making sacrifices since you decided to raise a family.

Having a college education is well worth the work and time because it will result in getting you the skills needed to obtain a career you may have never thought you could be a part of. It will be better in the long run for you and your family because you will be able to bring in more income to support the household once you start working.

Going back to school doesn’t have to be as hard as you might think. Some colleges offer online degree programs that allow you to work from home. If you still are weary about making the decision, just think about how you will be able to improve the family’s quality of life. They will thank you for it in the end, and your children will hopefully think of you when it is time for them to decide on what to do after high school.

It is important to get information on the grants available now because the funding is limited. If you would like to learn more, go to www.freecollegegrants.info. This resource will lead you in the right direction as you are making a wise decision to get back on track in your professional life.

Monday, March 1st, 2010
ALI J asked:

I got married in college and have spent the past 10 years raising my family. Now, I’m finding it a challenge to find a good job, not just retail or burgers if you know what I mean. My degree is in business. If you make hiring decisions, what should I be doing to get your attention?

A College Degree is Nearly an Essential

Monday, March 1st, 2010
allenarticles asked:

Your education is the single greatest gift you can give yourself. While there are educational opportunities all around us, some of them come at a greater cost than others. A college education might require a hefty investment of time and money upfront but the pay off is much better over time than if you used your life experiences in order to achieve the same level of education that you can pack into 2, 4, or 5 years of an undergraduate education on the college level.

In other words, over the course of your lifetime you are likely to pay far less for your college education than you would pay (in earning potential) for not having a college education. At the same time, each level of college education you receive increases your overall earning potential. This means that a one-year degree in a technical field will provide a modest boost from a high school diploma when it comes to earning potential but an associate’s degree will provide an even better boost. You will see an even more significant improvement in earning potential when you increase from an associate’s degree to a bachelor’s degree. The vast majority of students enter the work force upon completion of a bachelor’s degree. Those students, however, who remain in school for graduate studies often, find that a master’s degree even further improves their lifetime earning potentials.

The problem for most when it comes to making the jump between degrees and educational levels is cost. There are times in life when we simply need to get out of school and get to work. The good news is that it is gradually becoming easier for those with careers to further their education without sacrificing either their careers or their family during the process. Of course there will be some sacrifices along the way but it isn’t an all at once or nothing endeavor. You can work towards your degree by taking online classes, night classes, and Saturday classes. The information age has made it easier than ever before to achieve the educational goals you need to meet in order to satisfy your dreams for the future.

Your level of education will get your foot in the door when it comes to certain jobs and your lack of education will limit you far more than a lack of experience will limit you in many cases. As time grows on, more and more companies are seeking employees that have degrees rather than those who have experience in the field. If you hope to remain competitive in the business world you need to arm yourself with the proper education. Check with your company to see if they offer any sort of incentives for employees continuing their education. You might be surprised to find that your company offers to match your tuition funds or even completely reimburse them if you are working towards a degree that will assist you in your job functions.

There is no wrong reason to get an education. Even if you are applying for a job that won’t use your specific degree, you might find that having a degree at all gives you a boost over other applicants for the same position. A college degree is becoming more and more necessary in today’s business climate. You need to take every opportunity that is available to you in order to get your college degree.
