How many college degrees can someone have?

Sunday, November 28th, 2010
t k asked:

Is there a limit to how many and what combination of degrees that someone can have? Can someone have more than one associate’s or bachelor’s degrees in two different areas? How about multiple master’s or doctorate’s also? If someone could clarify or give a link to information regarding the common rules for college degrees, that would be great!

How many of you stay at home moms have college degrees?

Saturday, November 20th, 2010
socmum16 ♪ asked:

I’m not trying to diss anyone, I don’t think a mom with a college degree is necessarily any better than a mom without one. I’m just curious.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Communications. I also stay home with my three kids. Do any of you ever feel like people wonder why you have a college degree if you aren’t out in the workforce using it?

College degrees, or practical work experience?

Thursday, November 18th, 2010
Golden Scepter asked:

I have read many questions from people who are upset that they’ve wasted their dollars on earning degrees, only to be passed up to someone without a degree, or be told that they are “overqualified”. What is going on, should we continue to teach our youth that college is the way to go?
I am a firm believer in education, and with my Associates Degree I’ve encountered the good and the bad. I mean, I am still pursuing a Bachelor’s and eventually a Masters; just wanted to know others thoughts on this.

Are there any college degrees (other than an ESOL teaching certificate) that may help in an ESOL career? I’m planning to teach in Japan so maybe I might need a Bachelor’s Degree on Japanese or something.

I know that nowadays employers want to see at least a bachelor’s degree (4 years of college) before they hire you. How does getting two associate’s degrees (2 years each) compare?

I’m assuming employers still value a bachelor’s degree more, but how much more than two associate’s?
