In Arkansas, do you need a college degree to substitute teach?

I have a friend who told me she used to substitute in Springdale, Arkansas, and she does not have a college degree. She encouraged me to apply, but I was told from another friend, who is an instructional assistant, that I need at least one year of college. Does anyone know?
